33.6 Patch Notes
Buddies Return
Buddies are back in Battlegrounds! Buddies are powerful minions that come paired with each Hero. Anomalies are also set to make their return in an upcoming update, so stay tuned for more details on that. As of Patch 33.6, Quests are leaving the Tavern.
New Buddies
Tier 4, Pirate. 6/6. At the end of your turn, get a helpful card.
Tier 5, Undead. 5/5. Deathrattle: Get a helpful card.
Tier 3. 1/1. Battlecry: Choose a minion in the Tavern. Transform into a copy of it.
Tier 4, Mech. 8/4. Magnetic. After you Magnetize this to a Mech, make it Golden.
Tier 4, Elemental. 5/5. Battlecry: Discover a Tavern spell that costs (3) or more from any Tier.
Tier 5. 4/4. Battlecry: Discover a Zerg minion and set its stats to 6/6. It doesn't morph.
Tier 4, Beast. 1/1. Has +1/+1 for every 3 Gold you've spent this game.
Tier 5. 5/6. After you cast a Tavern spell, get a random Battlecruiser Upgrade.
Tier 2, Mech. 4/4. Whenever you buy a Tavern spell that costs (0), get a copy of it.
Tier 5. 3/7. Start of Combat: Copy your two left-most Rallies (except Stoneshell Guardian).
Changed Buddies
Tier 4, Undead. 6/7. Battlecry: Sell a friendly minion. Split its stats evenly amongst its neighbors.
Tier 6, Mech. 6/4. Start of Combat: Copy your two left-most Deathrattles (except Piloted Whirl-O-Tron).
Tier 4. 7/7. At the start of every 2 turns, get a plain copy of your teammate's highest-Tier minion. (2 turns left!)
Tier 3. 5/5. At the end of your turn, Pass the highest-Tier minion in the Tavern.
Tier 3, Naga. 3/4. After you cast a spell on a different friendly minion, you also cast it on this. (Once per turn.)
Tier 4. 7/6. Start of Combat: Give the minion to the left of this Health equal to its Attack.
Tier 4, Undead. 4/4. After a friendly minion dies, gain its maximum stats. (Once per combat.)
Tier 4, Pirate. 4/5. Divine Shield. The Tavern offers an extra Pirate whenever it is Refreshed.
Tier 3. 4/4. 2 Refreshes each turn cost (0). (2 left!)
Tier 3. 4/4. At the end of your turn, give this minion's stats to a different Tier 3 minion.
Tier 5, Dragon. 7/7. Rally: Get a random Dragon.
Tier 3. 4/4. The Tavern offers an extra minion of a higher Tier whenever it is Refreshed.
Tier 4. 7/5. At the end of your turn, randomly improve 'Conviction'.
Tier 2, Mech. 2/2. After you buy a minion, gain +2/+2 for each Bonus Keyword it has.
Tier 4. 5/4. After you play a minion you've already played this turn, give your minions stats equal to your Tier.
Tier 3. 3/3. Divine Shield. After 'Verdant Spheres' triggers, gain the stats of the last minion you bought.
Tier 2, Beast. 1/4. When you sell this, feed 1 Banana to your minions. After you cast 2 spells, improve this. (2 left!)
Tier 5. 4/7. At the start of your turn, get the Buddy of your Hero Power.
Tier 4. 6/6. 1 Refresh each turn is helpful! (1 left!)
Tier 5, Beast. 4/4. After you summon a minion in combat, double its stats.
Tier 5, Pirate. 4/4. Battlecry, Deathrattle, and Rally: Get a random Bounty.
Tier 4, Undead. 6/6. At the end of your turn, give the minion to the left +1 Health. (Improved by each Health your hero is missing!)
Tier 5, Undead. 6/2. Deathrattle: Summon and get a random Undead Creation.
Tier 5. 6/4. At the end of your turn, get 2 random Tavern spells that give stats.
Tier 4, Undead. 5/10. After a friendly minion dies, gain its Attack.
Tier 4, Beast. 2/3. After you remove a minion with 'Lock and Load,' get a plain copy of it.
Tier 4. 3/5. 'Prestidigitation' chooses from Better Secrets.
Tier 3, Undead. 2/2. Deathrattle: Summon 2 random Undead.
Tier 3. 6/5. At the end of your turn, increase your maximum Gold by 1.
Tier 3, Beast. 4/4. Whenever you play a minion with less Attack than this, give it +2/+2 and improve this.
Tier 3. 6/6. After you play a minion of your Tier, give your minions +1/+1.
Tier 4. 6/6. After you buy a minion, gain half its stats.
Tier 5, Elemental. 5/2. Whenever a different minion in your hand or board gains Health, this also gains it.
Tier 5, Quilboar/Undead. 3/7. After you get a Blood Gem, get an extra one.
Tier 5. 4/5. At the end of your turn, make a random Frozen minion in the Tavern Golden.
Tier 3. 7/4. At the end of your turn, give your left-most minion +10 Attack.
Tier 3. 4/7. At the end of your turn, give your right-most minion +10 Health.
Tier 4, Mech/Beast. 4/4. Deathrattle: Deal 2 damage to a random enemy minion for each of your Mechs that died this combat.
Hero Updates
Hero Pool Changes
- Edwin VanCleef now only appears in lobbies with Pirates, Elementals, or Murlocs.
- Forest Lord Cenarius, Ozumat, and N’Zoth now only appears in lobbies with Beasts.
- Zephrys, the Great will no longer appear in lobbies with Elementals.
Hero Changes
[Passive] Skip your first two turns, then Discover a minion from Tier 3 and Tier 4.
[2 Gold] Give 1 random friendly minion +1/+1. Passive. After each combat, choose an improvement.
[Passive] When you have space in combat, summon a copy of your highest-Attack minion. (Unlocks on Turn 7.)
[Passive] When you have space in combat, summon a copy of your highest-Health minion. (Unlocks on Turn 7.)
[Passive] After friendly minions deal 100 damage, open a portal to the Twisting Nether! (100 left!)

Avenge (4) Summon a 1/1 Whelp that attacks immediately. Improve this by +1/+1.
[Passive] Minions in the Tavern have +1/+1. Improves after you buy 5 minions. (5 left!)
[2 Gold] Steal a random minion from the Tavern. Double its Health.
[Passive] Start of Combat: Give a friendly minion of each type +1/+1. (Upgrades after you spend 10 Gold!)
BUY, INSECT!: [Passive] After you buy 16 cards, get Sulfuras. (16 left!)
Sulfuras: [Passive] At the end of your turn, give your left- and right-most minions +8/+8.
[Passive] Your Tavern spells that give stats grant an extra +1/+1.
[Passive] Minions cost (2). The Tavern offers one fewer minion and Freezes at the end of each turn.
[Passive] Start the game with a 2/1 Shredder with that summons the highest-Health minion from your hand.
[2 Gold] Discover a plain copy of a minion that died last combat. (Unlocks on Turn 3.)
[0 Gold] Remove a minion in the Tavern. When you have space next combat, fire it at a random enemy minion.
[1 Gold] Destroy a friendly Undead to get a random Undead.
[Passive] At the start of your turn, you cast a random Tavern spell.
[0 Gold] Choose an Element. Start of Combat: Call upon that Element.
Water Invocation: Start of Combat: Give your right-most minion Divine Shield and Taunt.
[Passive] Skip your first turn. Discover a Tier 6, 4, and 2 minion to get at those Tiers.
Choose a new flightpath. Complete it to get a bonus!
Westfall: [Passive] In 1 turn, get a random 1-Cost Tavern spell. (1 turn left!)

Bug Fixes and Game Improvements
- Fixed a bug where The War Within Themed Strike sometimes froze the game after the final opponent was defeated.
- Fixed a visual bug where Aviator Marin’s portrait did not gray out after being defeated.
- Fixed a bug where playing Lost Staff of Hamuul while the Tavern was on Tier 5 with Guiding Candle Trinket equipped refreshed an empty Tavern.


- In Duos, fixed a bug where Quest rewards that offered trinkets showed teammate's trinket in upper right corner.
- Fixed a bug where Insatiable Ur'zul failed to gain stats if it was buffed by I'm Still just a Rat in a Cage and had previously gained stats from its own effect.


- Fixed a big where Dragons previously buffed by Blood Gems while in combat would not retain future Blood Gem buffs with Persistent Poet.

- In Duos, fixed a bug where Untold Riches, when awarded during combat, also applied the increased max gold to the teammate.

- Fixed a bug where using Kidnap Sack on a frozen minion for a triple would cause the Golden to be frozen.

- Fixed a bug where stats gained from Staff of Enrichment were overridden by Perfect Vision.
